Colombo - Negombo - Kandy

Arrive Colombo and transfer to a hotel. Evening leave for City Tour of Colombo which include places of Tourist interest such as Old parliament, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Independence Square, Buddhist Hindu Temple and Town Hall. Shopping at ODEL, House of Fashion, Bare foot etc. at Colombo Overnight stay at a Hotel in Colombo.

After breakfast, leave for Kandy En route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. ELEPHANT ORPHANGE The foster home of elephants of different age and size feed, bathe, play together and even mate. These great animals have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. Now they even breed in captivity. SPICE GARDEN Visit a spice garden at mavanella which grows spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication. Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea faring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise. KANDY A ruled in Kandy up to 1815 although the rest of the island was under the British regime. Finally it was ceded to them by the Chieftains of Kandy who were disappointed over the king’s cruel deeds. Today Kandy is one of the most important cities owing to the presence of the Temple of the Sacred tooth of the Buddha. Overnight stay at Hotel in Kandy.

After Breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. En-route visit the Botanical Garden Peradeniya. Which was a pleasure garden of a Kandyan King of the 16th Century and later made in to a Botanical Garden during the British regime. This gardens, one of the best in Asia is a place of beauty and site for bird watchers. Nuwara Eliya also known as Little England is where the homesick British ( The Tea Planters) built themselves a home away from home. A touch of old England could be experienced by taking a drive through the city. Overnight stay at Hotel In -Nuwara Eliya.

Leave for Hambantota.En route stop at Ella Grand Motel to enjoy the view of the famous ella gap, Also view the beauty of the Ravana Falls as you descend to the low lands. p.m. Safari in National Park YALA NATIONAL PARK visit Ruhunu National Park at Yala. This will include a Safari tour by jeep with a jungle tracker, where you can see animals in the Jungle; including elephants, Bears, Wild boar, Dear, Buffalo, Monkeys and many other animals if you are lucky, leopards too. You also could see different types of birds. It's a small experience for bird watch lovers. Overnight stay at Yala Hotel.

DAY 5 YALA / BENTOTA (220km)
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Bentota. En route Visit Dutch Fortress. GALLE DUTCH FORTRESS Galle is one of the ancient sea ports of Sri Lanka and was an anchor point in the Silk Route. It was later discovered by the Portuguese where they built a fortress and the Dutch that succeeded them fortified it further. This fortress is today a World Heritage Site. Next Visit the Turtle Hatchery. TURTLE HATCHERY Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come as hop to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Lays hers eggs and covers it with sand where it is suppose, incubate by the heat of the sun. What often happens is the eggs are dug out by fisherman and sold to people who consume them.But now the eggs are bought up by the conservation projects and hatched the Natural way in enclosed areas and the Birds don't have a chance of picking them up.
